USAIN BOLT took a step closer to his dream of becoming a professional footballer - and left a lasting impression with his finishing skills.
Bolt has made no secret of his love for football, and admits he would have loved a career in the game after hanging up his spikes.
The sprint king was offered a chance to test himself by joining Borussia Dortmund on the loose suggestion of a trial.
And while it is unlikely the Manchester United fan will ever get near to a Bundesliga match he did show a fair amount of quality.
Not least when he lost his marker and powered in a bullet header past the stranded goalkeeper - much to the delight of those watching on the sidelines.
Bolt played under the watchful eye of Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho earlier this week.
Bolt is convinced he can transfer his speed from the track - where he is the 100m and 200m world record holder - onto the pitch.
And one of his social media followers wryly observed: "If he gets good at dribbling, nobody will catch him."
Marco Reus was another one of the Dortmund stars who looked to revel in having the Jamaican present.
After his first taste of training Bolt made the trip to the club's Signal Iduna Park stadium.
He strode out onto the pitch with his arms aloft - but stopped short of doing his trademark 'lightning bolt' celebration.
Perhaps it was a taste of things to come when Bolt scores in front of the adoring fans for real.
And former Man Utd legend Patrice Evra wished him well.
He commented on Bolt's Instagram post: "I'm so glad you archived [sic] all your goals. May god bless you more. I love this game bro!"
