Everton ready to ‘ditch Sam Allardyce and eye Paulo Fonseca as replacement’ in club overhaul
Owner Farhad Moshiri keen to make big changes at Goodison Park in an effort to build a club capable of challenging in the Premier League
EVERTON are planning a major overhaul at the club this summer which would see Sam Allardyce sacked as manager, according to reports.
Allardyce, 63, has only been in charge at Goodison Park for four months but his future at the club is under huge doubt.
They say the club's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is looking to make huge changes in an effort to help turn them into genuine challengers in the Premier League.
And despite Allardyce still having another year to run on the contract he signed in November, it appears Moshiri is willing to pay him off to get the man he really wants.
Big Sam was only handed the job of succeeding Ronald Koeman at Everton after Moshiri had failed to land other preferred targets.
And though he has helped stabilise the side following a disastrous start to the season which saw them deep in relegation trouble, his methods have not excited Moshiri or the Everton supporters.
Moshiri is understood to want more for the huge investment he is making, and believes a fresh new hierarchy is the best way of getting that.

Everton had sounded out Fonseca, 45, earlier this season but were unable to persuade Shakhtar to do a deal to let the Portuguese move to England.
There appears to be more hope a compensation package can be agreed this summer, and the club are understood to be ready to make their move once the season ends.
Moshiri, backed by chairman Bill Kenwright, is also looking to overhauling Everton's scouting and player acquisition set-up.
That leaves current director of football Steve Walsh's position in serious doubt, with PSV Eindhoven's highly regarded Marcel Brands the man they are courting.
There is believed to be unease at the way the players brought in over the last two transfer windows has failed to deliver much improvement for the money spent.
Moshiri has hardly hidden his desire to break into the top six clubs at the top of the division, and feels his investment should be bringing greater results.
