CARLO ANCELOTTI will have caused a stir in the Arsenal board room with the news that he's waiting for a Premier League club to come calling.

Ancelotti, 58, was sacked by Bayern Munich last year following a 3-0 Champions League defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

He has been approached to become the new Italy manager in the wake of Giampiero Ventura's sacking after the Azzurri's failure to reach the World Cup finals.

But report that Ancelotti has not given a definitive answer as he waits for possible offers from clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger could give up the Arsenal hot seat - or be pushed - after 22 years at the helm, and Ancelotti is highly fancied for the job.

Antonio Conte, meanwhile, is likely to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

Ancelotti was in charge at Stamford Bridge between June 2009 and May 2011, winning the Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010.

Ancelotti, asked whether he will be Italy's next manager said: "My answer is this: the federation... must create its own new structure, after which it will make the decision.

"I rest of my idea, it takes first clarity, then you can think about it, even if my goal is still to train a club team."

When pressed as to which team he'd like to manage, Ancelotti insisted: "I still do not know, it's all on the high seas, you have to wait a couple of months.

"Now the Champions League is back and, unless the rules are changed, there is only one team that wins it.

"Which others will they do?"
