Everton are a facing battle with Shakhtar Donetsk for boss Paulo Fonseca as Toffees consider Sam Allardyce’s future
The Portuguese manager has impressed in Ukraine, but Shakhtar are prepared to pay the 45-year-old up to £8million-a-year to stay on as manager
EVERTON face a costly battle to land Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca, testing owner Farhad Moshiri’s wealth.
The Toffees are looking at the Portuguese coach as they consider Sam Allardyce’s future.
But sources say Shakhtar will offer Fonseca up to £8million-a-year to stay in the Ukraine.
Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti are also in the running for the Goodison job, but would demand huge salaries.
So axing Allardyce will be an expensive exercise for Everton, whoever takes his place.
The former England boss succeeded Ronald Koeman in Merseyside after the Dutchman was sacked in October.
