RAY Wilkins’ wife Jackie has been at her husband’s bedside after he collapsed at their family home in Surrey.

His death is also being mourned by the couple’s grown up children and their grandchildren.

Who is Ray Wilkins' wife Jackie?

Jackie was married to Ray Wilkins for nearly 40 years.

She kept a vigil by her husband’s bedside after he was placed in a coma having suffered a heart attack before dying five days later on the morning of April 4.

Wilkins' wife Jackie was quoted in the Daily Mirror on Saturday saying he had fallen after suffering a cardiac arrest and had been put in an induced coma in intensive care.

Jackie told the Daily Mirror: "The cardiac arrest led to a fall which has meant he’s had to be put in an induced coma.

“It’s very, very bad."

When did she marry the ex-England footballer?

Ray met Jackie when she was ­secretary for then Chelsea manager Eddie ­McReadie.

In 1979 they had been married for just six weeks when the cash-strapped and relegated club accepted an offer from Manchester United that took Ray north.

How many children did they have together?

Together Ray and Jackie had two children, Ross, 36, and Jade., 32.

They also have grandchildren, Oliver, Frankie, Ava, Freddie, Jake and Archie.
