Real Madrid flop Martin Odegaard breaks metatarsal during loan spell away with Heerenveen
Teenager has been pocketing a whopping £80,000-a-week during his three years at the Bernabeu but is yet to make an impact
REAL MADRID flop Martin Odegaard is out for the rest of the season after breaking a metatarsal.
The 19-year-old has been on loan at Dutch side Heerenveen since January 2017, scoring three goals in total.
Odegaard is due back at Real this summer, with his future still yet to be officially decided.
But the Norway international is now sure to be sweating even further after breaking his foot during Sunday’s 2-1 win at Heracles.
Odegaard snubbed various top clubs around Europe in order to sign with Real in 2015 at the tender age of 16.
He has since pocketed an astonishing £80,000-a-week while failing to live up to expectations.
Real were hoping the time abroad might have seen Odegaard blossom and fulfil his potential.
But unless he can secure another loan move away, the teen could end up finding himself back in the Castilla ‘B’ team.

Odegaard is believed to be tied down to the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021, and only time will tell what the future has in store providing he makes a fully recovery from his injury setback.
Odegaard said: “Later, we will see what happens. It could be [another loan], but this is not the right moment to speak about it.”
