WAYNE ROONEY is fuming with Sam Allardyce over his Merseyside derby snub.
Rooney was substituted in the 57th minute against Liverpool — exactly the same time he was hooked against Manchester City the previous week.
The Everton forward is furious after Allardyce publicly claimed the 32-year-old did not have the legs to compete against the Reds in the second half.
He barely acknowledged Allardyce when he left the field and then launched a string of expletives from the substitutes’ bench.
Allardyce claimed Rooney could not match Liverpool’s running during the 0-0 draw and told him to see him in his office if he had a problem with the decision.
Meanwhile, Toffees right-back Seamus Coleman was frustrated by Everton’s failure to end their 17-game winless run in the derby. Coleman said: “We felt that Liverpool would be happier than us with a point but we started slowly and did not get to grips with the game.
“But in the second half we got tighter, pressed people more and played on the front foot.”
Everton almost won it late on but Coleman could not turn home Cenk Tosun’s effort, while Dominic
Calvert-Lewin side-footed over from close range.
Coleman, 29, added: “We are disappointed not to have come away with more after the chances we had at the end.
“Dominic is disappointed but he will work on that and I could have maybe got my toe on one.
“It was a clean sheet against a good Liverpool side, though, and to get the fans behind us we need to play from the first minute. They react to us and if we are getting in amongst people you can see how positive the atmosphere is.”
Coleman also praised keeper Jordan Pickford, who would have impressed England boss Gareth Southgate once again with first-half saves from Dominic Solanke and James Milner.
He said: “Jordan’s a top keeper and getting better all the time.
“He got me out of a bit of a mess, which I am grateful for, and going into the summer he is looking
like England’s No 1.”
Pickford, 24, said: “I didn’t know Gareth was there.
“I only think about doing my job for the team. We got the clean sheet, which we have been after for a while, because as a group we needed that.”
