FERNANDINHO has sensationally labelled Liverpool as a "long ball" team ahead of Manchester City's Champions League clash against the Reds.
He is just the latest Citizens star to make the same accusation, after full-back Danilo criticised Jose Mourinho's style of play at Manchester United.
With City heading into Tuesday's quarter-final second leg clash trailing 3-0, Fernandinho has stressed his side are more than capable of causing an upset.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the 32-year-old said: "They are a team who like to play long balls, fighting for the ball.
"They try to keep the players around the middle, but I think we're going to be ready for tomorrow's game.
"I hope we can solve all the problems we had, especially in the first half, in 10-15 minutes we conceded three goals.
"Then we can apply our type of game to win the game."
While he also added: "We have to keep going. What we done this season is amazing. We have another chance in the Champions League, it’s not easy, but we’ll fight for that.
"Tomorrow we must be together - the fans, the players, the staff. That’s my faith. We have to be together and fight until the end."
After losing back-to-back games, City will be looking to avoid another defeat ahead of Saturday's match against Tottenham at Wembley.
