Cristiano Ronaldo shows class by stopping Gianluigi Buffon interview and hugging him after Real Madrid win over Juventus
Legendary Juventus keeper was shown a straight red card for his furious reaction towards referee Michael Oliver after awarded Real Madrid a last-gasp penalty
CRISTIANO RONALDO interrupted Gianluigi Buffon's post-match press interview to pay his respects to the legendary keeper.
The veteran stopper was shown a straight red card by Michael Oliver in the dying stages of Juventus' last-gasp defeat following Buffon's penalty protests.
Buffon, 40, has most likely played his last Champions League appearance after the Old Lady crashed out to Real Madrid in dramatic circumstances.
With the match heading into extra-time, Mehdi Benatia fouled Lucas Vazquez leaving Buffon furious with the English ref.
Ronaldo made no mistake from the spot to settle the tie but the Portuguese ace was sympathetic to Buffon after the game.
While the keeper was lambasting Oliver to reporters, Ronaldo apologised for interrupting the interview before showing his class by hugging and kissing the Italian.
After the game, Buffon said of Oliver: "Clearly you cannot have a heart in your chest, but a bag of rubbish.
"If you can't handle the pressure and have the courage to make a decision, then you should just sit in the stands and eat your crisps."

He added: "If you have the cynicism to award a penalty like that, you are not a man, you are an animal.
"We had done something which seemed impossible. A pity it ended like this, unjustly. It was one tenth of a penalty."
Match-winner Ronaldo defended the penalty decision by Oliver and had a dig at Juve claiming they were fouling him all game.
Ron said: “I don’t understand why they protested the penalty.
“If he’s not fouled, Lucas scores. He is hit from behind.
“During the game Benatia and the rest constantly kicked us from behind. That is their game.”
