SALOMON RONDON posted an emotional tribute after hearing that a Venezuela physio was reportedly murdered.
According to Venezuelan newspaper El Impulso, Jesus Guacaran was shot in the city of Barquisimeto on Wednesday.
The death of Guacaran, who was part of the national side's set-up and physio for their Under-20 side, appeared to be confirmed in a tweet posted from the Venezuela football team's official account.
Rondon posted a picture of Guacaran, 30, on Twitter along with the message: "Such pain and helplessness to see again that life costs nothing in my country.
"Thanks for everything, Guaca, I'll always remember you with the happiness that you exuded.
"My condolences and deepest sympathies to your relatives."
El Impulso report that Guacaran was leaving a pharmacy when he was approached by a man who shot him in the face and then fled on a motorbike.
Torino and Venezuela midfielder Tomas Rincon tweeted: "Moved with this sad news, what helplessness and indignation.
"Once again crime takes away a great human being, I will always remember that friendly smile.

Venezuela paid their respects with a message on their Twitter account.
It read: "From the family #Vinotinto we join the deep pain that the death of our brother and physiotherapist Jesus Alberto Guacaran Barrios occurred this Wednesday in Barquisimeto. Our most sincere words of condolence to his relatives. RIP."
