Gareth Bale’s relationship with Zinedine Zidane hits new low… but he expects to stay at Real Madrid next season

Struggling Welsh star was hauled off at half-time against Juventus on Wednesday

GARETH BALE’S relationship with Zinedine Zidane has hit an all-time low — but he still expects to be at Real Madrid next season.

The struggling Welsh star was hauled off at half-time against Juventus on Wednesday as manager Zidane reacted to his side going 2-0 down in an epic Euro clash before Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-gasp penalty saved them.

Bale, 28, was also booed by home fans amid heightened speculation over his future.

Manchester United remain keen on landing the forward, who joined Real for a then world-record £86million fee in 2013.

Yet Bale still believes Bernabeu bosses are not interested in selling him — and that his basic £600,000-a-week wages will put off potential suitors.

Yet the situation with Zidane and Bale has grown increasingly uncomfortable and is a worry for both parties.

Real are unlikely to sack Zidane but he could still quit this summer.

On Wednesday, defending his decision to sub Bale, Zidane said: “We had to change the shape of the team, and it changed the dynamic of the game.
