MICHY BATSHUAYI is being examined in hospital over fears he has fractured his ankle.
The striker was carried off the pitch on a stretcher in the 92nd minute of Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 defeat at Schalke earlier today.
He left Schalke's Arena Stadium on crutches and are reporting that the 24-year-old may have fractured his ankle.
Dortmund boss Peter Stoger said in a post-match press conference: "We hope that it is not so bad, but we have to wait for the exact investigation."
Batshuayi crashed to the grass in second-half injury-time after a challenge from former Tottenham man Benjamin Stambouli.
He immediately raised his hand into the air to signal for medical help, as did opposition defender Naldo.
As he was being carried off the pitch he had his hands covering his face, in obvious pain.
The Belgian has proved a huge hit since signing on loan with the German giants in January, scoring nine goals in 13 appearances in all competitions.
