SO Arsene Wenger is leaving Arsenal after 22 years in charge.
But what next for the man whose DNA is rooted deep in the foundation of the Emirates Stadium and the latter history of the North London club?
Undoubtedly the expected impending departure of Unai Emery from Paris Saint-Germain could turn out to be more than a happy coincidence for the Frenchman.
A chance maybe for him to forget the empty seats, the apathy and the anger surrounding what has become a losing Gunners' team.
Things have gone stale for Wenger in North London but at the Parc des Princes the appetite for fame and glory, Champions League glory at that, remains top of the agenda.
Wenger, 68, arguably still has that same appetite and desire the French champions-elect demand of themselves and their next head coach.
He looks a shoe-in and will a highly popular choice given his age-old high profile and continuing analysis as a guest pundit for French TV.
Neymar, or no Neymar, PSG are a mouth-watering prospect with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani on board.

Ligue 1 will probably suit Wenger, too, at this stage of his life.
The Premier League has turned Wenger from a revolutionary who changed the face of English football when he arrived in 1996 into a beaten man given Arsenal's demise since the New Year.
It is unlikely he will have to deal with so many upsets if he transfers from a league where, on their day, anyone can beat anyone (except Manchester City), to a far less demanding stage.
Wenger could almost concentrate on the Champions League, still a shining beacon for a top-class manager who made the final once, in 2005, when Arsenal were beaten by Barcelona.
Elsewhere, the Football Association could offer Wenger a role in their hierarchy. His experience, honesty and vision could help shape the future of English football.
But maybe he won't want to stick around in his adopted country.
Which is why a new role as, say technical director, at Arsenal may not appeal, either.
The fact is many Gunners' fans are tired of him. Owner Stan Kroenke has been so loyal to Wenger even though Arsenal they are without a Premier League title since 2003-04.
