MK Dons part company with manager Dan Micciche following 4-0 defeat against Southend
The Dons currently sit 23rd in the League One table with just three games to play
MK DONS have announced they have parted company with manager Dan Micciche.
The 38-year-old took charge of the club in January, but has been sacked with the Dons sitting 23rd in the League One table with just three games to play.
The 4-0 drubbing against Southend at Roots Hall on Saturday proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Micciche who won just three out of 16 games.
Speaking to the , Micciche said: "This is a Club that means a lot to me and my family and I put every ounce of effort into the job.
"Unfortunately, the fine margins have gone against us and it hasn’t worked out in the way we would have wanted.
"I am extremely grateful to the board, staff, players and fans for their tremendous support during my time here.
"It has been an honour to manage this Football Club and I would love nothing more than to see it get back to where it belongs.”
While club chairman Pete Winkelman thanked Micciche for his services during a tough period at Stadium MK, with the club sitting six points from safety.

He said: "I am grateful to Dan for his dedication to the role during this testing period in our history and I sincerely wish him the very best for the future.”
Assistant manager Keith Millen, 51, will take charge of the first team until the rest of the campaign, as he looks to avoid the Dons dropping into the fourth-tier of English football.

Micciche initially joined MK Dons in 2007 as assistant academy manager, before later being promoted to become the head of academy coaching.
He left in 2013 to take up a role to take up a role with the FA to become a coach, where he would go on to manage the England U-16 side.
