Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger ‘keen on taking over as England manager one day’

And French football writer Julien Laurens claims Wenger, 68, would love the chance to manage the Three Lions one day.

He told the Euro Leagues Football show: "I don't see him taking another club.

"That's pretty much what I've been told, however, a national team might be something that interests him.

"A big country with a good project could interest him.

When asked if the option could be France, he added: "Yeah, maybe. We have Deschamps for at least two years after the World Cup.

"But maybe England, I think he would be very, very keen on the England job one day."

Wenger made his announcement on Friday and was reported to have been offered a job by Paris Saint-Germain as their club president.

However, Wenger has said in the past that he plans on staying in management when he leaves the Emirates, which will now be in May.
