Chelsea lead Manchester United and Liverpool in chase for £44m Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj
Albanian international has shown his versatility in Napoli's title-challenging season and now Prem clubs are taking notice
CHELSEA are leading a pack of Premier League clubs chasing Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, according to reports.
The Albania international has been courting interest from Europe's elite and, according to Sportitalia, has a £43.72million release clause.
That is said to be seen as a respectable price for full back Hysaj, 24, by the Blues and their rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
Chelsea are reported to be the closest to sealing a deal as they claim Hysaj's agent has met Stamford Bridge chiefs in person on multiple occasions.
Hysaj is a versatile player who is most comfortable at right back but has shown he can fill in wherever there are gaps.
The former Empoli star has played six of his 38 starts for the club at left back after the injury to Faouzi Ghoulam.

Chelsea are in the market for another right back with boss Antonio Conte switching between Victor Moses and the struggling Davide Zappacosta.
The Italian has failed to cement his place in the squad in a dissapointing debut season in West London.

United boss Jose Mourinho will likely use Hysaj at left-back if he got him as Antonio Valencia has done well on the right flank.
But Liverpool are the team who seem to have the least need for Hysaj with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne all playing on the right this campaign.
