On-loan Leicester ace looks to have played last game for Rafa Benitez's side as he faces retrospective suspension
ISLAM SLIMANI has almost certainly played his last game for Newcastle after being charged by the FA.
The Leicester loanee, 29, was caught on camera kicking West Brom’s Craig Dawson’s calf in an off-the-ball incident in the 80th minute of the Toon’s 1-0 home defeat on Saturday.
And Slimani was tonight charged with violent conduct by the FA so will receive a retrospective ban which will rule him out of Newcastle’s final three matches against Watford, Tottenham and Chelsea.
The Algerian will therefore head back to Leicester this summer having played just 130 minutes during his loan spell at St James’ Park.
And with his £2million loan fee and £80,000-a-week wages, Slimani will go down as one of Newcastle’s most expensive ever flops.
He joined the Toon on January deadline day but a thigh injury ruled him out until the end of March.
Slimani has since made three substitute appearances and started one game, scoring no goals and providing just one assist.
The £29million hitman had been hoping to convince Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez to make his loan move permanent.

Yet he will now return to the King Power fighting for his Foxes future and could find himself having to move away from England this summer.
Meanwhile, there could be further woe for Newcastle fans with Leicester City and old side Napoli reportedly lining up moves for Rafa Benitez this summer.
