JOSE MOURINHO has taken a dig at Cristiano Ronaldo... by claiming the Brazilian striker is the best player to bare the name.
The two had an explosive relationship when Mourinho managed the Portuguese frontman at Real Madrid and almost came to blows after one match in 2013.
But when speaking about the Brazilian striker Ronaldo in a documentary about the late Sir Bobby Robson, Mourinho hails him as the best.
In the film charting Robson's career as a player and as a manager, Mourinho declared: "Ronaldo Nazario, the best Ronaldo EVER!"
The Barcelona striker - signed by Sir Bobby from PSV for £13.2million in 1996 - won the World Player of the Year three times while Madrid's Ronaldo has won it five times.
However, in the film, Mourinho describes Ronaldo's season where he scored a club record of 47 goals before he was sold to Inter Milan.
He said: "I never saw the same, I never saw the same.
