Premier League review: David Moyes deserves another year, Liverpool’s season at risk, bittersweet for West Brom boss Darren Moore

IT'S been a week where the headlines have been dominated by Sir Alex Ferguson, who remains in a serious condition in hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
It goes without saying that we, like the rest of the game, wish him the speediest of recoveries.

WHAT NOW FOR WEST HAM?
So the Hammers are staying up, their 2-0 win over Leicester confirming their top-flight status for next season.
But what do they do with David Moyes? Stick or twist?
If you ask me the last thing that club needs is another new manager coming in and upsetting the Cockney apple cart yet again.
Give Moyes a bit of money in the summer. Clear out some of the dead wood – a lot of the dead wood – and I’d put money on the Hammers finishing in the top half of the table next year.

TALKING OF LEICESTER…
There may well be another managerial change at Leicester though. The Foxes are finishing the campaign not like an express train but like a rail replacement bus service.
You know, one of those really old buses from the 1980s that you only see when the trains aren’t working.
It’s four defeats from their last five for the East Midlanders and given the owner’s itchy trigger finger it wouldn’t surprise me if there was another vacancy at the King Power in the summer.
MOORE THE MERRIER
Another weekend and another incredible win for West Brom.
And while the chance of the Baggies staying up are still very slim, there’s every chance that Darren Moore, unbeaten in his time as stand-in boss, could win the Manager of the Month award and still take his team down too.
CRYSTAL CLEAR
Mind you, Roy Hodgson could lay serious claim to that award too.
Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win at Stoke, relegating the Potters, made the Eagles safe and this after losing their first seven games of the season without even scoring a goal.
That’s the first time that’s happened since Liverpool stayed up in the 1899/1900 season after losing their first seven.
WENGER IN!
Tears all round at the Emirates yesterday not because next year’s season ticket prices have been announced but because Arsene Wenger said his farewells to those fans that have been calling for his head for year after year now.
I wouldn’t have bothered if I were him.
I would have just given them a few home truths instead.
