Arsene Wenger stone-faced as he takes charge of Arsenal training for the final time ahead of Huddersfield clash

Outgoing icon, who has spent some 22 years in charge of the club, looked all business on what was surely an emotional occasion

ARSENE WENGER appeared stone-faced as he took Arsenal training for the final time.

The outgoing Gunners boss, 68, will end his 22-year rule over the North London side tomorrow in the clash at Huddersfield.

But he made his last fine-tuning session a business-like affair with apparently little room for emotion.

In fact, rather than tears, there were broad smiles on the faces of Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin.

Fan favourite Santi Cazorla also beamed with happiness.

Wenger was pictured deep in conversation with young Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

He said Tottenham may have to sell Harry Kane to pay for their new stadium.

Wenger believes the spiralling costs of the new White Hart Lane will have a huge impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer dealings.

He said: “In the last ten years prices for a new stadium have doubled and transfer fees for players have tripled, or even quadrupled.

"When we built our stadium a £10million player was huge. Today a guy like Kane, Tottenham can sell him for £100m, maybe more?

“So they might have to sell players to get more financial supply. That’s an issue they have to face.”
