Ashley Young has started the majority of the matches at left-back this season, with Luke Shaw having been unable to earn the manager's trust.

And report that the United boss is targeting Sandro — with Juventus looking for a fee of more than £50million.

It adds that the Italian champions would demand similar to the amount City paid Monaco for the services of Benjamin Mendy.

Mourinho will also look to reinforce other areas of his squad, with the gap between first and second place at 19 points heading into the final match of the season.

As well as a winger, right-back and a central defender, the United boss is also looking for a central midfielder to replace Michael Carrick should he fail to convince Marouane Fellaini to stay on.

Sandro joined Juventus from Porto three years ago for £22.9m and has established himself as one of the best left sided players in the world.

The Brazilian is very versatile and can play anywhere along that flank.

Juventus will welcome back left-back Leonardo Spinazzola back from his loan spell at Atalanta this summer, who would slot in as a replacement.
