Burnley 1 Bournemouth 2: Callum Wilson nets dramatic injury time winner as Cherries come back from behind at Turf Moor

CALUM WILSON left the Clarets with Long faces as his last-gasp winner took the fizz out of their end-of-season party.
Wilson drilled in a stoppage time strike when fellow sub Jermain Defoe teed him up in the 94th minute.
And that made for a heartbreaking finale for centre-back Kevin Long, who had been caught in possession 40 yards from goal when there was no obvious danger.
It also completed a stunning comeback for Eddie Howe’s Cherries, after Josh King had earlier marked his 100th Prem game for Bournemouth with a curled equaliser.
Yet in all honesty, nothing was really going to ruin the day for Burnley fans celebrating a stunning season, and the prospect of European football next time around.
They kicked off as second favourites for the drop eight months ago, but defied the odds at Chelsea on day one and continued to do so virtually every week since.
Burnley seemed to be on course to finish with a flourish, too, when Chris Wood put them ahead – even if he didn’t know a great deal about it.
When Stephen Ward drilled in a low cross, Ashley Westwood’s first timer was arrowing well wide.
With a lot of luck and not quite as much judgement Wood, leaning back, saw it arc into the opposite corner off his left boot – to save his blushes into the bargain.
For moments earlier the Clarets hitman had been guilty of jabbing Aaron Lennon’s cross over an unguarded goal from no more than two yards.
Admittedly the linesman’s flag would have ruled it out anyway. Yet neither he not anyone else in Turf Moor was aware of that at the time.
To be fair to the Cherries, they deserved to level when Matt Lowton dithered in clearing, and King ultimately made him pay with that leveller.
They didn’t merit all three points, but got them anyway when Wilson pounced late on – even though it doesn’t stop it being a season to remember for the Clarets more than anyone.
