MO SALAH won the Premier League Golden Boot after breaking another record with his 32nd goal of a stunning campaign.

The Egyptian surpassed the 31-goal mark in a 38-game campaign set by Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.

He opened the scoring for Liverpool against Brighton at Anfield to reach 32 for the campaign, two ahead of Harry Kane.

Kane scored twice in Tottenham's 5-4 win over Leicester at Wembley to keep the heat on Salah but ultimately fell short.

The English striker became the first player to score 30 goals and not win the Golden Boot in a 38-game season.

Salah has scored 44 goals in all competitions this season and been instrumental in Liverpool's run to the Champions League final.

He was named PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year as well as scooping two awards at Liverpool's end-of-season ceremony on Thursday.

Salah had earlier this year won the African Player of the Year Award and was the first African to reach the 30-goal mark in a single Premier League season.

Andy Cole scored 34 goals in 1993-94 when the Premier League was a 42-game season, and Shearer followed suit a year later for Blackburn.

Liverpool needed at least a draw against Brighton to secure their spot in the Champions League next season.
