West Ham line up Paulo Fonseca as David Moyes’ successor as Hammers hold talks with the Shakhtar Donetsk boss

The London club have spoken with the 45-year-old, with the ex-Porto manager meeting chairman David Sullivan at his home

WEST HAM have reportedly held talks with Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca as the club look to replace David Moyes.

The Hammers are currently without a manager after the Scotsman was not awarded a new deal at the London Stadium - despite avoiding relegation and finishing 13th.

According to the , Fonseca and his agent Jorge Mendes met with West Ham's co-chairman David Sullivan at his Essex home.

The 45-year-old is believed to have held a 45-minute meeting after flying into England from Portugal.

West Ham are understood to seek an immediate successor to Moyes, with Unai Emery a top target as revealed by The Sun.

The Spaniard would be a massive coup for the club after winning ten trophies in five years with PSG and previous club Sevilla.

Rafa Benitez and Manuel Pellegrini are also on the shortlist.

While they could yet hijack Everton's move to hire Watford's former boss Marco Silva.

Fonseca was linked with a move to join the Toffees earlier on in the season as he continues to impress at the helm of the Ukranian giants.

Shakhtar beat Manchester City at home in the Champions League this campaign, while his attacking style of play has earned rave reviews.

He has previously been in charge of Porto and Braga, but his stock has risen since moving to Ukraine.

Under Fonseca's guidance, Shakhtar have won back-to-back league titles, as well as consecutive Ukrainian Cups.
