Joachim Low signs new deal to stay on as Germany manager until at least 2022
JOACHIM LOW has signed a new deal to stay on as Germany manager until at least 2022.
The German boss, 58, has put pen to paper on a two-year extension to stay on as national team chief until the next World Cup.
Low has been in charge of Die Mannschaft since 2006, leading his side to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in the process.
Now the German will have the chance to oversee not only this summer's tournament in Russia, but the 2022 edition in Qatar too, as well as the 2020 Euros.
Germany are once again amongst the favourites for the upcoming World Cup - and have rewarded coaches Thomas Schneider and Andreas Kopke with improved deals.
They too have added two years on to their current contracts, with Low revealing his joy.
He said: "Working together with Kopke, Schneider, Marcus Sorg, Oliver Bierhoff and our entire team, to develop [the squad] and make them even better, to form a team going for the highest goals in football - that drives me and still gives me huge joy.
"These days, I feel a great desire for the upcoming World Cup in Russia and the intense weeks with the team.
