MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly believe they will sign Toby Alderweireld this summer.
The defender has rejected a contract offer from Tottenham worth £120,000 a week – more than double his current £50k-a-week pay packet.
And Jose Mourinho wants to rival Chelsea to bring in the Belgian, 29, as one of the four defenders he has targeted.
United are said to be confident of doing a deal around the £40million mark, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona also interested.
The Red Devils are also willing to offer Alderweireld a contract that will take him into his mid-thirties – something Spurs are unwilling to do.
