Everton axe Steve Walsh as Director of Football and appoint PSV chief Marcel Brands as replacement
EVERTON have appointed PSV chief Marcel Brands as director of football.
The Dutchman's arrival spells the end for Steve Walsh who has held the position since joining from Leicester City last year.
Walsh follows manager Sam Allardyce out of the club after his sacking today, six months after replacing Ronald Koeman.
Brands joined Dutch giants PSV in 2010 and leaves the club having won three titles in the last four years.
He told the: "It is a very difficult decision, but I think this is a good step at the right time.
"I have a great time here and PSV has given me the choice to make some years of it."
