Manchester United ‘open talks’ to reunite Chelsea winger Willian with Jose Mourinho
Brazilian, 29, is a favourite of Jose Mourinho and has been in his sights since becoming United's boss two years ago
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly sounded out Willian over a move to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian, 29, is a favourite of Jose Mourinho and has been in his sights since becoming United's boss two years ago.
Mourinho brought Willian to Chelsea in a £30million deal from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013.
United made contact with the Blues a year ago but were told a deal would not be done for the 54-cap star, who is in Brazil's World Cup squad.
The Special One has prioritised strengthening his defence and midfield in the next window.
But he loves Willian's defensive work and is thought to be willing to make an exception if the winger is on the market.
Mourinho recently stated that he thought his chances of landing Willian would be be scuppered by his former club.
He said: "Who knows we can have a Brazilian in the squad next year.
"I don't believe it will be Willian, because Chelsea won't make it possible."
TOBY OR NOT TOBY Manchester United confident of landing Spurs contract rebel Toby Alderweireld
However, Willian has just two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and Blues may be tempted to do a deal if the player indicates he wants the move.
United have not done business with his agent, Kia Joorabchian, since fellow client Carlos Tevez left to join Manchester City in 2009.
