claim that United have held initial talks with Willian's representatives to discover whether he would be keen on the move.

Mourinho brought Willian to Chelsea in a £30million deal from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013.

United made contact with the Blues a year ago but were told a deal would not be done for the 54-cap star, who is in Brazil's World Cup squad.

The Special One has prioritised strengthening his defence and midfield in the next window.
