Bayern Munich ‘make £52million bid for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey’

The Bundesliga club are believed to be holding out for around £88m for the 20-year-old

BAYERN MUNICH have joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Bayern Leverkusen star Leon Bailey after reportedly tabling a £52million bid.

The 20-year-old starred at the BayArena this season, leading the winger to be linked with a surprise call-up to England's World Cup squad.

And according to , the reigning Bundesliga champions are desperate to nab the Jamaican youth international.

They claim the Bavarian giants have offered Leverkusen £52m as they look to claim their prized jewel.

But Heiko Herrlich's side are believed to be holding closer in the region of a whopping £87m.

Los Blancos are understood to have identified Bailey as key transfer target, with Madrid instructing super agent Jorge Mendes to explore the possibility of signing the forward.

But it has been reported that Bailey favours a move to the Allianz Arena over the Bernabeu.

Manchester United were linked with his services earlier on in the season, while Chelsea have also been credited with an interest.

A move to England could yet materialise in the summer with Bailey himself admitting it is his "dream" to play in the Premier League.

Bailey helped Leverkusen to a fifth-placed finish in the German top-flight this campaign, netting 12 goals and chalking up six assists in all competitions.
