AC MILAN have confirmed they are chasing a deal for out-of-contract Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgian international, 30, is available on a free after snubbing the latest deal on offer from the beaten FA Cup finalists.
And Serie A giants Milan are closing in on agreeing a switch, with sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli hailing the giant midfielder.
He said: "Fellaini? He could be an important player. In fact, he is an important player.
"We know that he is not renewing his contract with Manchester United, but it is difficult to say if we have closed it.
"He has important parameters. We will do something in that role, but with maximum discretion.
"We will close a deal first before we announce a player."
