The ambitious MLS outfit have targeted England's greatest ever goalscorer as they aim to make a marquee signing.
And they believe Everton ace Rooney, 32, remains on course to sign a deal.
Speaking after a 1-1 draw at LAFC, Olsen said: "There is interest in Wayne Rooney from our end and I think there is interest from his end too.
"I hope it can get over the line because he's a very good player who can help us.
