It comes just a day after ex-Chelsea captain Terry revealed he will be leaving Aston Villa following their Play-Off final heartbreak.

Lampard, 39, has yet to appoint his assistant as he takes his first step into management.

And Chelsea fans want the former midfielder to team up with his old pal to help guide Derby into the Premier League.

Replying to Lampard's Facebook post announcing his deal with Derby, one commented: "Now that JT has left Aston Villa can we expect to see you both team up at Derby in a coaching double act?"

Others said: "John Terry will surely be Frank Lampard's first signing for Derby County" while another commented: "Nailed on player-coach, John Terry playing under Lampard at Derby, watch this space."

Terry has yet to comment on where his future lies but shared a video of himself on Instagram showing off his fitness as he ponders his next move.

Meanwhile Lampard will have the tough task of guiding the Rams to the Premier League after narrowly missing out under Gary Rowett.
