Ex-Arsenal boss Arsenal Wenger enjoys punting in Cambridge sunshine as he continues to be linked to Real Madrid
Frenchman took time out with family to hone his skills on the River Cam as links to the vacant Bernabeu hotseat grow
ARSENE WENGER was pictured taking time out with family on the River Cam today as the former Arsenal boss escaped media speculation about links to the vacant Real Madrid job.
Wenger, 68, returned to Cambridge with his daughter Lea, who graduated from the city's world-famous university a year ago.
Wenger was spotted punting his way down the river, an activity popular with students and locals in the city.
Last summer he was spotted attending his daughter's graduation, which took place in a ceremony at Senate House.
The punt will have been a welcome break for the man who has just ended a 22-year reign at Arsenal, replaced by Spaniard Unai Emery last month.
But his time in the managerial wilderness may be short-lived.
On Thursday Zinedine Zidane shockingly resigned from his role in charge of Real Madrid, who he led to three consecutive Champions League titles.
The most recent of which, sealed with a 3-1 win over Liverpool last Saturday, came just days before the announcement.

And Wenger is now the favourite to take over at the Santiago Bernabeu, having previously rejected Real's advances to stay with Arsenal.
The Champions League, a trophy Real have now won a record 13 times, is the most glaring omission from Wenger's glittering CV as a manager.
