Leicester trigger Jonny Evans’ £3.5m West Brom release clause ahead of Man City
The 30-year-old has reportedly agreed a move to the King Power Stadium after holding talks with Claude Puel
JONNY EVANS is closing on a move to Leicester after the Foxes activated his £3.5million relegation release clause at West Brom.
The Northern Irish centre-back is believed to have held positive talks with Claude Puel, and has agreed a move to the King Power Stadium.
It is believed the 2015/16 Premier League champions will pay the Baggies two instalments of £1.75m.
The 30-year-old had been a key target of Manchester City this summer, but the player has since given up his dream of joining the Citizens.
Evans was a shining light in an otherwise disappointing season at the Hawthorns, as the club were relegated back to the Championship after eight years.
Leicester failed with a £23m move for the ex-Manchester United ace back in January, but now look set to get their man.

And their spending spree shows no signs of slowing down as Leicester move ahead of Everton in the race to nab Norwich's £20m star James Maddison.
While they are also demanding City winger Patrick Roberts should Riyad Mahrez move to the Etihad, as well as eyeing up Turkish prospect Abdulkadir Omur.
