BORUSSIA DORTMUND are plotting a surprise swoop for Tottenham's powerhouse midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to reports.
The Kenyan international was limited to just eight league starts in a season hampered with injuries.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino could consider cashing in with the 26-year-old struggling to force his way back into the team following his spell on the treatment table.
And Dortmund want to take advantage as they look to add some steel to their midfielder, according to Bild.
Wanyama joined Spurs in 2016 for £11million and still has three years left to run on his current deal.
Spurs won't want to lose him on the cheap but Dortmund are set to have cash to spend as Premier League interest in Mario Gotze hots up.
But in a recent interview with Goal, Wanyama signalled his intentions to remain at White Hart Lane.
He said: "I always don’t respond to rumours and all those are rumours to me, I still have a contract with Spurs and that is what I want to see through.
“I did not have a good season with the team because of injury and my aim now is to work hard during this break and return for next season even stronger and help them perform even better.
"I am happy at Tottenham and I am committed to the team. I am not aware of anything [regarding a move away] and I am very fine and happy where I am."
