Aston Villa need to raise £50m in player sales and could be forced into selling Jack Grealish, James Chester and Jonathan Kodjia

Grealish has attracted interest from a host of Premier League sides while Chester is wanted by Stoke

ASTON VILLA could be forced to flog James Chester, Jack Grealish and Jonathan Kodjia as their financial problems deepen.

The Championship side are paying the price for failing to secure promotion and must stump up £50million in player sales.

Villa have already trimmed the wage bill following the departure of John Terry.

Loan players Robert Snodgrass, Sam Johnstone, Lewis Grabban and Josh Onomah have also left the club.

Rival and Premier League clubs are ready to take advantage by testing their resolve with opening offers.

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham have joined Chelsea and Leicester in the fight for £15m-rated Grealish.

Villa are likely to reject the offer and eye at least double that figure for a player with significant potential.

Meanwhile new Stoke boss Gary Rowett is wasting no time in getting his squad braced for a promotion push and wants Chester in a £10m deal.

The centre-back was instrumental for manager Steve Bruce last season and was one of Villa's most consistent performers.

Kodjia, who cost Villa £15million two years ago, scored just one goal last season.
