SOUTHAMPTON have reportedly agreed a £6million fee with Celtic to sign Stuart Armstrong.
The attacking midfielder is now set to discuss personal terms with the Saints.
Armstrong, 26, only penned a new two-year contract with the Scottish champions last summer.
But he only has 12 months remaining on that deal and looks set to move to the Premier League.
The star is believed to be keen on moving south of the border after an injury-ravaged campaign last season.
Southampton are looking to strengthen their squad following the narrow escape from relegation.
And they have agreed to pay the £6m upfront with the figure potentially rising depending on various factors.
Armstrong began his career with Caledonian Thistle and went on to spend four-and-a-half years at Dundee United before joining the Hoops in 2015.
He scored 17 goals in Brendan Rodgers' first season in charge at Parkhead and has won four Scottish Premiership titles in Glasgow.
The ace won his first international cap for the Tartan Army against Slovenia in March last year and has won five more since his debut.
