ARSENAL and Liverpool are set to do battle in the transfer market in a desperate bid to land Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez.
The Spanish star, 26, made an incredible 56 appearances for Los Blancos in 2017-18 - but has struggled to break into the starting XI.
With Real now embarking on a new era under Julen Lopetegui following Zinedine Zidane's departure, Europe's elite are set to raid the squad.
Now, Arsenal - under new leadership themselves and Liverpool are hoping to take advantage of Vazquez's current status, according to Marca.
Manchester United have also expressed their interest in recent months, with Anthony Martial tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer.
However, it will not be easy to land die-hard Madrid fan Vazquez, who earlier this year expressed his desire to stay at the Bernabeu.
Vazquez revealed: "My dream has always been to play for Real Madrid.
“I am very happy at Real Madrid, it is the team that formed me as a player and I hope I can stay for many years.”
Liverpool are also eyeing up an incredible £176million move for Vazquez's team-mate, for club and country, Marco Asensio.
The playmaker is one of the hottest young prospects in Europe, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly willing to once again smash the club record transfer fee.
