MANCHESTER UNITED youngster Demetri Mitchell has been targeted by Frank Lampard at Derby.
Lamps wants the England Under-20 defender on a permanent deal for £500,000.
And he hopes the offer of regular first-team football can help secure his services.
Mitchell, 21, was on loan at Hearts in Scotland last season.
And after impressing north of the border he is weighing up his next move for the upcoming season.
Heading back to the Scottish Premiership is an option for the left-back.
But Derby have shown interest in making him part of their push for promotion from the Championship.
After starting as a winger, Mitchell was converted into a full-back and made his debut for United’s first-team two seasons ago before getting loaned out.
Mitchell has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.
United will weigh up selling him this summer or risk losing him for nothing in a year.
