JACK RODWELL could be given a career revival as Watford consider a move for midfielder, according to reports.
The 27-year-old saw his contract at Sunderland terminated, following their relegation to League One.
Now, Premier League outfit Watford could acquire the free agent, who has struggled with injuries in recent times, as reported by .
Rodwell managed just two Championship appearances last season, and has not played a senior match for the Black Cats since September 2017.
He was linked with a move to Bolton earlier this summer, but Watford appear to be his most likely destination.
The former England international was considered a future Three Lions captain after coming through the academy at Everton.

That earned Rodwell a big-money move to Manchester City but injuries and competition limited his opportunities.
A four-year spell at Sunderland followed, in which the Black Cats suffered back-to-back relegations.
But Watford could give him a sensational return to the Premier League, if Rodwell can pass a trial.
Yet, the midfielder has attracted interest elsewhere, with Italian Serie A sides and clubs in USA's MLS are also enquiring.
