Why is Laurent Koscielny not playing?

THE Arsenal defender suffered an Achilles injury in May, and has not played since.

As a result he missed the entire World Cup and has yet to play for the Gunners this season after being sidelined for at least six months.

The Frenchman is hoping to appear in the red and white again before Christmas.

Emmanuel Macron has invited the defender, along with fellow crocked star Dimitri Payet, for the showdown in Moscow.

Before his injury, Koscielny announced that he would retire from international football after the tournament.

Does Laurent K0scielny have a future at Arsenal?

KOSCIELNY is club captain at the Emirates and will be hoping to impress new boss Unai Emery.

He is contracted until 2020 in North London - and is hoping to be fit around October or November.

But the Frenchman was on the verge of leaving to return to his homeland, before injury ended any hope of leaving the Gunners.
