A move to Everton was put forward to Shaw, as he enters the final year of his contract, as reported by .

But the left-back rejected joining the Toffees and could now face huge competition for minutes should Man United sign Brazilian ace Sandro.

The Juventus defender is reported to have finalised terms with the Red Devils, but United have yet to agree a transfer fee.

Sandro, 27, is expected to cost the Old Trafford outfit around £50-60 million.

Shaw was limited to just 11 Premier League appearances last season, with Ashley Young deputising at left-back.

It marked another disappointing year at Man United, having failed to play 20 top-flight matches in a season since joining the Red Devils in 2014.

He has been spotted on social media working out and looks barely recognisable after getting himself in shape after concerns over his fitness.

And he has travelled with the Man United squad for their USA pre-season tour , which begins against Club America in the early hours on Friday.
