FULHAM are right in the race for Celtic and Scotland star Kieran Tierney — but must pay £25million for him.
Top spy Brian Talbot saw left-back Tierney, 21, in fine form for Brendan Rodgers’ side in European action last week.
Now the Craven Cottage side are waiting to see if he can leave this window.
Everton, Wolves and Bournemouth have all shown interest in Tierney but he is not pushing to go.
The Cottagers are set to splash out as they know they have a big sale up their sleeve in £100m-rated Ryan Sessegnon — if they need to raise cash later.
Ideally they would like both in their side for the return to the Prem but landing Tierney would soften the blow if Sessegnon moves in the future.
Fulham also want Matt Targett back from Southampton, though, they are having no joy in their pursuit of the left-back who starred on loan last season.
And the busy Londoners are also eyeing Swansea centre-half Alfie Mawson.
The sticking point is the asking price, believed to be £25m, which they are reluctant to meet.
However, they know that the defender would sooner join them than move north to Burnley, also among the clubs chasing him.

Fulham are also trying to offload Spanish centre-half Marcelo Djalo to a Championship club. The former Real Madrid youth graduate, 24, has hardly played since joining in 2017.
He can go on loan and the terms will not be a big problem — as Fulham are keen to sort out a shop window for the Spaniard.
