Manchester United may already be planning Jose Mourinho’s exit, says ex-Liverpool and England star Jamie Redknapp
Red Devils manager's continuous public rants have created a grim mood at Old Trafford and will have the 'alarm bells' ringing inside the boardroom
MANCHESTER UNITED could already be planning for Jose Mourinho’s exit, according to ex-England international Jamie Redknapp.
The Red Devils boss has been in a grim mood throughout the pre-season tour of USA.
As SunSport reported today, United’s players have been privately querying why the manager is so downcast, with a number feeling they are walking on eggshells around him.
Mourinho has publicly blasted Anthony Martial over the Frenchman’s decision to stay with his partner after returning home to be by her side after the birth of his child.
The former Chelsea coach is also angry at a failure to bring in two more signings with just ten days to go until their opening game of the campaign against Leicester.
And the lack of bodies he has on the trip to the States has only frustrated him further – leading to him calling for his World Cup stars to cut short their holidays and join up with their team-mates ahead of the new season.

Mourinho also delivered a shocking response after United’s 4-1 thumping at the hands of Liverpool in Michigan when he said he would not have paid to watch the game – which could have the marketing department worried.
The whole mood of the club seems to be downcast – and Sky Sports pundit and ex-Liverpool midfielder Redknapp believes alarm bells will be ringing.

He believes Mourinho could soon be heading out of the Old Trafford door if he continues his negative public outbursts.
Writing in his column, Redknapp said: “All Mourinho has done is moan. He sounds like someone trying to engineer an exit.

“Alarm bells will be ringing in the United boardroom.
“Why back him with another £300m if they are soon to be faced with having to find another manager?
“The choice United face is simple. Buy Harry Maguire, buy another player and let Jose be happy.
“If they don’t he will continue to make his feelings known.
“But how much longer will the board tolerate his outbursts?”
The Liverpool setback was United’s fourth clash of the tour after drawing the other three — though they did win the encounter with AC Milan on penalties.
Their final tour game is tonight in Miami against Real Madrid.
