FORMER Arsenal and Manchester City star Samir Nasri has seen his doping ban increased to 18 months.
The Frenchman was given a six-month global ban after he was found to have breached World Anti-Doping Agency rules following intravenous treatment in Los Angeles.
Nasri had visited the Drip Doctors in 2016, with a social media post showing him beside one of their professionals after using an IV drip.
He was playing at Sevilla on loan from City at the time and was banned from playing for six months from July 2017.
However, an appeal was launched by Uefa’s ethics and disciplinary inspector, who wanted Nasri banned for even longer.
And despite playing eight times for Turkish side Antalyaspor before leaving them in January, he is now unable to train with a new club until November.
It now means the 31-year-old faces an even longer wait to find his next home.
A statement from Uefa read: “The Control, Ethics and Discplinary Body’s decision of 22 February 2018 is amended as follows:
“1. The player Samir Nasri is suspended for 18 months. This suspension will start running on 1 July 2018.
“2. The player Samir Nasri is allowed to return to training, with any football club starting from 1 November 2018.”
