Bournemouth have club record bid rejected by Levante for Jefferson Lerma and told to come back with £30m
Cherries boss in a race against time to land his top transfer target before window slams shut next week
BOURNEMOUTH have had a club-record bid REJECTED for Jefferson Lerma.
And they have been told to come back with £30million.
The Colombia midfielder has been targeted by Eddie Howe.
But a £27m offer from the Cherries has fallen short.
Levante have been firm with their asking price for the 23-year-old after three seasons in Spain.
And his impressive displays at the World Cup this summer have only strengthened their resolve.
Howe faces a race against time to land his No1 transfer target before the transfer deadline next week.
The Cherries boss wants Lerma as his final signing before getting the season underway and is not looking at other targets yet.

David Brooks has arrived from Sheffield United and Diego Rico from Leganes - but Lerma will be Howe’s big summer signing.
The player is willing to move to the Premier League and personal terms should not be an obstacle if a fee is agreed between clubs.
