CARDIFF are keen on taking Harry Arter from Bournemouth.
Midfielder Arter, 28, is open to leaving the Cherries in search of first-team football.
The likelihood of that happening under Eddie Howe this term have been heavily reduced following the club-record signing of Jefferson Lerma.
Neil Warnock wants to strengthen his midfield and likes the look of the Republic of Ireland international.
But he faces competition from Newcastle, Stoke and Middlesbrough.
Bournemouth are happy to keep their long-serving star, who joined from Woking for £4,000 in 2010.
SunSport understands that any team would have to pay over £10million to snare Arter.
The fans’ favourite said on Monday: “I just want to be playing football this season.
CHERRIES POPPED Bournemouth smash transfer record to sign Jefferson Lerma
“I can’t afford to be sitting on the bench.
“If the manager doesn’t feel like he can offer me the same assurances as the other lads in midfield, then maybe the best thing is for me to move on.”
