ANGEL RANGEL is joining Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old has been out of contract since his deal at Swansea expired this summer.
But Spanish right-back Rangel, who made 374 appearances for the Swans, is expected to sign for Steve McClaren's men in the next 48 hours following talks.
Rangel helped the Welsh club to the Premier League but only played seven games in all competitions last season.
McClaren's QPR needed to bolster his defence after Darnell Furlong sustained a knee injury which could rule him out for three months.
Furlong missed the majority of last season due to knee trouble, and picked up a fresh problem during a pre-season clash against AFC Wimbledon.
It is understood that Rangel has been invited to train with QPR as they look to thrash out a deal.
Rangel spent 11 years at Swansea after joining the club from Spanish side Terrassa in 2007.
He starred in their rise from League One to the top-flight, while also picking up a League Cup winners medal during the 2012/13 season.
And should he sign for QPR, he could make his debut away to West Brom next weekend.
