MIDDLESBROUGH want Le Havre’s £10million-rated centre half Harold Moukoudi.
The 20-year-old is the man identified to fill the boots of Ben Gibson.
Tony Pulis has been given cash to spend on reinforcements following the sale of Gibson to Burnley and Adama Traore to Wolves.
And the experienced boss is trying to tie up a deal for the powerful defender to arrive in January.
Le Havre will sell and the clubs can do a deal in the next window to bring Moukoudi to the Championship high fliers.
Moukoudi hoped for a Premier League move in the summer but missed out.
As SunSport exclusively reported last year, he was been monitored closely by Arsenal, Nice, Bordeaux and RB Leipzig in the past.
But he will drop down a level into the second tier if terms are agreed.
