WAYNE ROONEY reminded the world of his goal-scoring ability with two trademark goals in DC United's 4-1 win over Portland Timbers.
The 32-year-old Manchester United legend inspired his side to another MLS win with goals either side of the break.
In front of 18,000 home fans the ex-England ace went behind but he levelled for them on 43 minutes with a darting run and ruthless left-foot finish.
Rooney’s side went ahead just four minutes later through Oneil David but the goal of the game was still to come.
DC won a foul on 68 minutes around 25-yards from goal but it looked best suited to a left-footed taker.
But the ex-Everton ace swung the ball over and around the wall with his right-peg and hapless goalkeeper Jeff Attinella could only get a limp wrist to it.
Roon has been grabbing plenty of goals and headlines since his switch from Everton.
At the end of July he scored his first goal for the club but was left with a nasty gash on his nose and a black bandage around his head.
And on August 13 we got a glimpse of the striker at his all-action best when he dived into a brilliant tackle, to prevent a certain goal for Orlando City and sparked a counter attack that ended in a 96th minute winner.
